Round Wire
Round Wire Milwaukee Resistor
ROUNDWIRE RESISTORS - FIXED AND ADJUSTABLE 8 WATTS TO 1150 WATTS
Milwaukee Resistor Corporation roundwire resistors are readily available in designs customized to meet your requirements.
Benefits/Features
Feature of Milwaukee Resistor Corporation roundwire resistors include:
- Terminal bands are spot welded after installation on the core and resistance-alloy wire is precisely wound onto the core.
- The wire is spotwelded to the terminal bands and then "locked" onto the core with a vitreous enamel, cement, or silicone coating.
- Fixed, adjustable, or tapped styles are available.
- Special temperature coefficients, tolerances, and non-inductive windings can be specified.
- Standard lug terminals available with or without terminal hardware. Single and double quick connect terminals can be specified.
- Special terminals available for unusual applications.
- Mounting available with spring clips (through 1-1/8" diameter); through-bolt mounting hardware, horizontal "L" mounting brackets, and individual or multiple stacked bracket assemblies.
- Hardware can be supplied mounted, as loose assemblies, or as individual parts.
- Wattage ratings are based on a temperature rise of 325° C. above an ambient of 25° C.
- Maximum voltage limitation is 750 V. RMS per inch of winding length.
- Standard resistance tolerance is ±5%. Resistance values less than 1 ohm and adjustable resistors are ±10%. Closer tolerances are available upon request.
Applications
Typical applications for roundwire resistors in motor/motion control include areas such as dynamic braking, motor starting, speed/torque control, and plugging. Other applications include load dumping, current limiting, and voltage dropping. Roundwire resistors are commonly found in:
- Overhead Cranes
- Lift Trucks
- Arc and Spot Welders
- Processing
- Battery Chargers
- UPS Systems
- Elevators
- Machine Tools
- Conveyors
- Industrial Controls
